Kavya Madhavan, who made a comeback with Gadamma,in Malayalam, says' 'I have always wanted to do performance-oriented roles — every actress wants that. But, even if the film is a commercial one, I make sure that my character has substance in it'.
On comeback, she says, 'When was I ever away for me to make a comeback? I was away from movies for just six months. There have been times when there has been a longer gap between my releases. It really doesn’t feel like a comeback at all.'
Although there may not be a Tamil film on the cards anytime soon, Kavya has an interesting line-up of Malayalam releases coming up. 'There is the multi-starrer Chinatown, with Mohanlal, Dileep and Jayram slated for release.
Then, there’s a film with Akku Akbar that I am working on in addition to Ende Amma, which I committed to long ago.'
